About Our Accreditation

OIS is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), a regional educational accrediting organization recognised by the US Department of Education. 

We are also authorised to offer the three programmes of the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO). The documentation here summarises reports related to the accreditation, authorisation and other self-evaluation processes. 

We are authorized to offer three programs of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), the Diploma Programme (since 1994), the Middle Years Programme (since 2004), and the Primary Years Programme (since 2004).

I. Strategic Plans

All stakeholders in our community contributed their opinions and ideas during the accreditation and authorization cycle culminating with an accreditation visit in 2013. We are currently completing the aa new strategic plan for 2019-2024, based on the accreditation visit of February 2018.:

II. Interim Reports

WASC requires schools to submit a yearly report highlighting progress made in the school-wide action plan. Below are the last three year's annual interim reports:

III. Major Events

WASC and IB visit schools on a five-year cycle. In anticipation of the last visit in February of 2013, we underwent an 18-month self study. A comprehensive report was published including recommendations from the visiting committee. Below are the 2018 WASC / IB (PYP, MYP, DP) reports. We also completed a substantive change report with WASC after the Kwansei Gakuin Educational Foundation merged with the Senri International School Foundation, and we started our international boarding program, the Global Futures Program:
